Information about ScooterGeek
Scooter Geek is an online news magazine collated by a collective of writers thoroughly immersed in two wheeled culture. When we're not building them we're writing and shooting them; when we're not breaking them we're riding them.
Submitting articles and photography to Scooter Geek
We welcome original and previously unpublished articles and photography for publication in ScooterGeek provided they are relevant, topical and fit in with the ScooterGeek house style.
In the first instance please contact the Managing Editor, Richard Lunt, with a brief outline of what topic or event you are offering to write about or photograph. If you are intending to write about a product or service which you are connected with, or which is paying you to promote it, then you MUST make this clear at the outset. (This is a legal requirement under UK law). With photography, you must be the original photographer and owner of any photographic materials, and it is your responsibility to ensure that you have obtained model releases where applicable.
Materials for publication are accepted at the sole discretion of Scooter Geek's Managing Editor Ruchard Lunt on the basis that they are previously unpublished and that Scooter Geek is granted first world serial rights. Please note that ScooterGeek does not, at this time, pay for articles or photography. However, authors do receive a proportion of any syndication fees.
Events, Rallies, Shows, and Festivals
Our journalists are constantly on the road attending shows and rallies. With the volume of scooter related events we prefer to offer some of the less obvious venues for inclusion in Scooter Geek. However if you feel your event might appeal to our slightly more quirky tastes please contact us by email with a brief detail outline, venue and dates.
Product launches, Press announcements, and Release Days
We not only post pre prepared product releases on our web site but can also send one of our journalists to cover prestigious product and event launches. In the past we have reported on exclusive presentations such as “An evening with Pete Townshend” to promote the re release of his Iconic Quadrophenia album to Blue Ribbon events including the Goodwood Revival and Festival of Speed.
We welcome news about music, book and DVD launches which fall into the Scooter Geek interest areas which are extremely eclectic and varied. If you would like us to review your material, in the first instance please contact Managing Editor, Richard Lunt, with brief details of your recording, book or DVD. We do however refuse to give negative feedback on Scooter Geek, preferring simply not to feature something we have not enjoyed.
As our name implies, all at Scooter Geek enjoy the nuances of new products from simple nuts and bolts that do a job that little bit better than their predecessors, through to completely new machjnes. As competent mechanics we’re able to fit and assess parts, their ease of fitting and suitability for purpose; as experienced riders we can evaluate a scooter’s performance and handling and as people who like to be protected from the elements we can offer our opinion as to whether clothing is likely to keep a rider protected and comfortable over their journeys. To offer your new products for revue please contact Managing Editor, Richard Lunt.
